Building the intelligence layer for e-commerce

Margient is developing AI that helps online businesses research opportunities, understand their numbers, and catch problems early, so every decision is grounded in what actually drives profit.

Illustration of the Margient concept: signals from storefronts, marketplaces, ad platforms, suppliers and fulfillment flow into a central intelligence layer, which turns them into opportunities, true margins, early warnings and next actions.

What we're building

E-commerce runs on decisions. Most are made with half the picture.

Running an online business means making hundreds of decisions: what to sell, how to price it, where to spend on ads, when to reorder. The data behind those calls exists, but it's scattered across storefronts, marketplaces, ad platforms, spreadsheets and supplier invoices.

Margient is building AI that brings those signals together, understands the economics behind every product, and surfaces what deserves attention. Over time, we aim to build systems that take on more of the research and operational work themselves, with people firmly in control of the decisions that matter.

Principles we build by

  • Grounded in real numbers

Every insight should trace back to actual revenue, costs and margins, not vanity metrics.

  • Transparent by design

Recommendations should explain their reasoning, so teams can verify them before acting.

  • People stay in control

Autonomy is earned gradually. People set the boundaries; systems work within them.

Focus areas

Four areas we're researching and building.

Each one starts from a question every online business asks. Together, they form the foundation of what we're developing.

  • AI commerce intelligence

Models that connect sales, costs and operations into one coherent understanding of how a business is really performing.

Q.How is the business really doing?

  • Opportunity discovery

Research across products, categories and markets to surface opportunities worth pursuing, and flag the ones that aren't.

    Q.What should we sell next?

  • Profitability analysis

Product-level margin analysis that accounts for fees, shipping, returns and ad spend, so revenue is never mistaken for profit.

    Q.Which products actually make money?

  • Intelligent automation

AI agents that take on repetitive operational work within clear rules, with people reviewing what matters.

Q.What work can safely run on its own?

How it works

From scattered data to confident decisions.

Three steps describe the approach we're designing the product around.

  1. Step 01

    Connect

Bring together data from storefronts, marketplaces, ad platforms and cost sources into one consistent view of the business.

  2. Step 02

    Understand

AI models analyze performance, unit economics and market signals to find what matters most, and explain why it matters.

  3. Step 03

    Act

Turn insights into clear recommendations and, over time, automated workflows that run within boundaries you set.

This describes the direction of the product we're developing. Capabilities are being built and tested step by step.
